The events of the film take place in California, where Ray Donovan, the so-called crisis manager, has been working for a long time to resolve various issues of his wealthy clients. Despite the fact that Ray does not need money, his life has enough problems of a different nature: due to complete immersion in the affairs of customers, he breaks away from the world around him and the people who are dear to him. To top it all off, the protagonist of the film "Ray Donovan: The Movie" practically cut off any relationship with the family, whose members have long believed that Donovan will ever be able to improve. While Ray is busy solving another client issue, his father Mickey is hiding from the persecution of criminals who want to settle scores with him. Upon learning of this, Ray drops everything and goes to look for his father: if he fails to reach him before the bandits, Mickey will get involved in another bloody massacre. Can Donovan find his father before those looking for him do?
