The events of the film take place in 2029. Mutants are on the verge of extinction. An exhausted Logan tends to an ailing Professor X at a hideout on the Mexican border. Logan is aging and realizes that his ability to regenerate is weakening every day. He tries to hide from the world, but all his plans collapse with the appearance of a young mutant girl named Laura, who is pursued by dark forces. Risking everything, Logan decides to get involved in another battle.
