Robert Neville is the last survivor of a disaster that not only turned the New York metropolis into a ghost town three years ago, but also wiped out all human life or turned people into zombies. The cause of the disaster was a genetically modified virus released out of control, which was supposed to cure cancer. While most of the treated people gradually died from the physical changes caused by the virus, Robert in a hurry tried to develop an antigen. But before it could reach its destination, the virus spread across the planet in the form of a pandemic, as some of the infected turned into violent, bloodthirsty and photophobic creatures, and the survivors also gradually became infected through bites. However, for some reason, Robert proves to be immune to the virus. Since then, he lives with his dog in deserted New York. His daily routine is strictly planned: although he spends most of his time on antigen research, the focus is on an extensive fitness program and keeping his home safe. But do not forget about the rest. As the only user of the video library, the guy has access to a huge selection of free movies, he also plays golf on an aircraft carrier or hunts wild animals that have settled in a big city. It is only at night that the menacing danger becomes omnipresent. The physical changes that the virus has caused in people make them sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, when it gets dark, the monsters come out and start their hunt. Of course, isolation affected Robert.
