Stranger Things (1-4 seasons)
As the team disperses, the smallest one, Will, is attacked by a shadow monster that is much scarier than the ones seen in their dice game. Will's disappearance set off strange events that will leave the small town shattered and hurt for years to come. While the search for Will is going on throughout the city, we meet a young, almost mute girl with a uniquely shaved head, in a hospital gown and, oh yes, the ability to move objects with the power of her mind. Using this ability to avoid being caught by government agents, she encounters the boys in the woods while looking for Will. They give her the nickname Eleven, or El, from a number mysteriously tattooed on her arm, and Will secretly grants her shelter in his parents' basement. While Will's furious mom and Hawkins Police Department Chief Jim Hopper, who himself experienced the loss of his daughter to cancer, search for Will, Nancy Wheeler, Mike's older sister, and her best friend Barb go to a pool party at Nancy's boyfriend's house. Busy with Steve Harrington and his flawless bangs, Nancy doesn't notice her best friend being forcibly kidnapped by the so-called Demogorgon, essentially the Pale Man Guillermo del Toro with a Venus flytrap on his head. He drags Barb into the Upside Down World, a frightening alternate dimension with constant midnight hues.
