Gloucester, Massachusetts. A deaf family runs a fishing business. Ruby, 17, the only hearing member of the family, helps her deaf parents and brother with fishing. At school, she joins the local choir, where she realizes that she loves to sing. The choir leader convinces her to think about music school, and now the girl is forced to choose between family and a new dream.
