A calm, measured life and service are interrupted when a man has to leave his hometown to investigate in the Ozarks, where once again a brutal murder was committed, the details of which remain a mystery. In parallel with this crime, Wayne will take on the case of the disappearance of local children. The investigation will lead the main character to reveal the secrets of numerous inhabitants of the plateau. The plot will unfold in three time frames, affecting the present, past and future.
