Jim Hoffman was arrested for smuggling cocaine on his plane. After that, he decided to start life from scratch in the lush, wealthy suburb of San Diego. Jim and his wife were surprised to discover that auto mogul John DeLorean lives in a glamorous house on their street, who dreams of creating the most perfect car. They soon form an unexpected friendship, just as John's new venture, the DeLorean Motor Company, begins. But when the FBI forces Jim to talk about his former drug dealer, John's funding is in jeopardy.
