1973 Gary is only 15 years old, but he is already bold enough, cheeky and has a strong business sense to go beyond what is permitted. Carefree Alana is 25 and doesn't expect much from her future. Together they will go to conquer sunny California, where they will meet Barbara Streisand's husband and progressive politician Joel Wex.
